Situated by the sunny and windy coastline of the Central Region of Vietnam, Danang is known as the most beautiful beach city in the world with its sandy beaches stretching for as far as the eye can see, breathtaking tourist attractions and rich culinary heritage. However, rapid urbanization has caused the environment to suffer, leaving serious effects on the life and health of local people. "Severe degradation" is what could be seen at "Phu Loc wastewater treatment plant in Lien Chieu District, Danang" in the period from 2011 to 2015, due to unqualified old treatment that discharged undertreated wastewater to the environment. Realizing how urgent and important it was, People's Committee of Danang decided to have Phu Loc wastewater treatment plant upgraded and renovated with an investment of 137.1 billion VND from the city budget, hoping to lend fresh environment back to the residents.
As the EPC contractor for the first phase of Phu Loc wastewater treatment plant renovation project from 2015 to 2016, Seen Tech., JSC successfully completed the project in just 15 months, from June 2015 to September 2016. With a team of highly experienced technicians, Seen has developed rigorous treatment systems and processes, including: wastewater separator, anaerobic treatment tank, anoxic treatment tank, oxic treatment tank, sludge treatment zone, chemical zone, and repair workshop. Phu Loc wastewater treatment plant is equipped with automatic data transmission system to constantly transfer monitoring data to Danang Department of Natural Resources and Environment to continuously monitor output wastewater quality. Phu Loc wastewater treatment plant uses Sequencing Batch Reactors SBR (disinfection, odor control and sludge drying) to save 40% of the area and a significant amount in electricity cost, ensuring wastewater quality meets QCVN 40: 2011 column A - Ambient air quality after treatment meets QCVN 06:2009/BTNMT - National technical regulation on hazardous substances in ambient air. With a total area of 22,800 m2 and a big capacity of about 40,000m3 per day and night, the plant can expand its collection area to include Hai Chau district, Thanh Khe district and Lien Chieu district, Danang.
Having thoroughly solved pollution and improved the environmental landscape, the project of upgrade of Phu Loc Wastewater treatment plant phase 1 has completely fulfilled its task of lending the poetic, gentle river as well as fresh environment back to local people, contributing to adorn this city of tourism!
